We’re super
excited, so I’m going to skip straight to the end. We’re meeting
our kids soon! We’re going to talk with them for the first time on
the phone today, Election Day 2016, then we’ll have in-person
visits with them twice next week! And a very recent development –
they’ll then be spending their entire Thanksgiving break in our
home!
The plan is to
continue visits while they finish out the semester in their current
school and then to fully move them in with us at the beginning of
Christmas break. We thought that would be the smoothest transition
for the kids so they’ll have time to get to know us and it’ll be
a natural break for school.
We’ll be adopting
three amazing kiddos: two boys ages 8 and 9, and a girl age 12. Our
house is going to get a lot louder very soon! Please pray that it’ll
be a smooth transition for the kids and that Sesha and I have the
wisdom (and energy!) to be good parents.
More updates coming
soon after we’ve met the kiddos and had a chance to catch our
breath!
Congrads and Good Luck! Maybe older kids are better in the fact they are not babies and are less likely to bring home the sickies and you are not having to change diapers, less likely to walk in on you going to the bathroom or you both losing endless hours of sleep.
ReplyDeleteThough Stefan got a really nasty tummy virus and was not fun this past week. Good Luck to you both! I will send positive vibes your way and hope your family is as connected as ours. Make sure to make it easy on them and yourselves. Go on vacations away from the grind of school and worklife. It does wonders how nature can help connect and comfort a family. Don't beat yourself up if you are not the "perfect" parent as there is None. Just do what you think is the right thing and trust in yourselves as you are all they have and need. :) Congratulations. Two is a handful and 3 is like dancing or riding a bike. You'll get there. Welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood.
By the way: Aria is 11 and Stefan is almost 7.
